POP SENSATION, ALEX YOUNG PERFORMS HIT SINGLE “HEART STOP” AT GREASE N’ GRITS BLUES FESTIVAL
PHILADELPHIA (August 2010) – In the spirit of mixing things up, emerging pop sensation, Alex Young, will be appearing as a guest artist at the Grease ‘N Grits Blues Festival, at UPenn Rotunda, on August 20, 2010, for a performance of her hit single, “Heart Stop”, from her debut album, AMAZING.
Alex Young steps off her 2010 Club Tour, a dazzling standing room only show, choreographed by Sheryl Murakami (Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Kesha), for this unique stop at the Blues Festival where she seduces the beat with a blues meets pop performance of “Heart Stop”.
Her stunning vocals, combined with the legendary styling of an all-star blues band, will have the audience handcuffed to the dance floor. The all-star lineup includes: Philadelphia’s violinist/vocalist Owen ‘Fiidla’ Brown (Mary J Blige, Sun Ra, P-Funk), with Urban Classique trumpeter Michael Ray (Kool & the Gang, Sun Ra), Violinist & composer, guitarist, Kurt Chambers, John Blake Jr., vocalist/Belly Dancer Zen Aura, and Tap Dancer, Robert Burden (River Dance).
Alex continues her work with A-list producers and writers. In crafting her debut album, the artist worked with multi-platinum producer Amadeus Thompson (Trey Songz, 50 Cent, Danity Kane, Lil Wayne), two-time Grammy nominee Phillip “Taj” Jackson (Rihanna, Janet Jackson), to Jonas Jeberg & Cutfather (Pussycat Dolls, Kylie Minogue, Jordin Sparks), resulting in an acclaimed amalgam of pop, R&B, funk and dance. Her club show features her single “Heart Stop” along with her latest single, “Government Name”, written by Stevie Wonder’s daughter, Takiyha Mathis.
